Lizze and I are laying in bed tonight and as we are drifting off to sleep, we are suddenly awoke.  The dogs were growling because they know we something wasn't right.  Next thing I know, we hear what sounds like screaming, followed by at least half a dozen gunshots.  My instinct is to call the police but what's the point? Today has been one of those days that I'm just grateful to have survived.  With everything that happened today, I'm completely exhausted and fearing the future, at least what it has in store for Gavin. I spoke with Dr. Moodley's office this afternoon and let them know what happened today with Gavin's crisis. At this point they don't want us to do anything different.  We aren't going to change his meds or adjust his fluid intake. We aren't going to do anything. As a father this feels like a whole lot of sitting around and doing nothing.  Doing nothing feels wrong. I'm beginning to feel like I might be frustrating or irritating Dr. Moodley because I'm calling him when these things happen. I've never gotten any indication of this, I…

This is Gavin's blood work from earlier today.  While this isn't related to his IVIG Infusion, it's what's required to refill his Clozapine every single time.  His Lithium level is of particular interest and thankfully, it's right where it's supposed to be.  Something else I forgot to mention is that Gavin's  lost weight again.  This month he was 118lbs at weigh-in and that's another loss.  His eating habits haven't changed, nor have his portions or caloric intake. I wanted to let everyone know that despite the really rough start, Gavin's IVIG Infusion was successful.  I want to thank his nurse for doing such an awesome job.  With that said, I don't know how much more of this my heart can take.... Gavin scared me to death this morning.  This was far and away the worst I'd seen him in a long time.  The was very little warning and it hit so fast.  We had a short walk and two elevator rides to get to the infusion lab. It's roughly a five minute journey from the car to the infusion lab but Gavin needed to stop and rest three times.  Two of the three times we're involuntary breaks, meaning he physically collapsed.  He literally just fell on his…

The boys had a good morning.  Both Elliott and Emmett were very cooperative and that made things so much easier.  I wasn't sure how Emmett would be doing because he got up several times last night. I think that part of this mornings success stemmed from the fact that today was Take a Stand Against Bullying at school today.  The students were encouraged to wear blue to help raise awareness for bullying.  Either way, the boys had a great morning and I'm really proud of them both. After lying down for a little while, Gavin's vitals seem to have stabilized. Right now he's resting and receiving an IV fluid bolus.  With any luck, we will make it through this without getting admitted again.  Lizze is making arrangements, should her presence be required. At this point, he's doing a little bit better and hopefully that means we're in the clear. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.
