This is scary for a million reasons I know of and even more that I don’t. It’s just one more thing that we have to contend with and try and figure out. Thankfully, the weight-loss isn’t more rapid than about 4 lbs per month, so we have time to figure this out.

Today’s been one of missing sleep. Lizze and I are really, really tired and boys are really, really full of energy. This is not a good match right now but we are making it work..

It matters not, whether the excitement be of a positive or negative nature. Kids with mental health issues like Gavin, can and often will, decompensate under these circumstances. We’ve seen it happen countless times with Gavin and to be honest, with his health issues so significant, we sometimes forget the fine line he walks emotionally.

One of the most difficult things for me as a parent to three kids with Autism and other special needs, is knowing when some of them are sick or not feeling well.

We made it to the Cleveland Clinic almost 30 minutes early. I always forget how weird the setup for the psych clinic is. We have to go to the 5th floor to check in and then get back on the elevators and go down to the 4th floor to wait.

I’m hoping that everyone will at least be feeling better for Christmas. There are few things worse than being sick on the holidays. We’re probably going to celebrate at home this year because with everyone being sick or just getting better, it’s best that we take it easy.

For the last two weeks, all three of the boys have been trading the same goddamn illness back and forth. It began with Emmett puking and it eventually spread to Elliott. Gavin was next in line and barely got over this before Elliott started all over again yesterday morning.
