I’m so proud of my kids

I thought this was really cool and wanted to share before getting lost in my day. As you may or may not know, Elliott and Emmett have found that they love cooking and baking. Elliott's likes to cook and Emmett likes to bake. They both picked these up during COVID lockdown and do a really good job. Yesterday, Emmett decided to bake peanut butter cookies. He hasn't really baked in a little while and he's been having a but of a rough time lately. Anyway, he decided to bake yesterday afternoon and they turned out delicious. I will admit to eating more than I should have, especially considering I'm avoiding carbs but someone once told me to eat it if the kids make it and just forget the carbs. That…

The nomadiQ Ultimate Lightweight Portable Propane Grill (Review)

I get review items in all the time but every once in awhile, something like the nomadiQ grill comes in that I'm super excited about. This is one such item and while there's really no direct tie to special needs parenting, it's nonetheless very useful. So let's just jump in with both feet. About 2 weeks ago, I received a interesting looking package and it turned out to be a portable propane grill from nomadiQ. Considering we haven't had a working grill for most of COVID lockdown, this was really exciting. Okay. I'm really trying to get back into writing more about our daily lives. There's a ton of things I don't talk about because I just lack the energy to put those experiences into words. I'm seeking to change that and as season 3 of the podcast comes to a close, I have more time to write. The podcast is so time consuming but I'm finishing up episode 40 for release today or tomorrow and I'm done for the year. With that said, here's some cool shit I want to share with you folks. ☺ It's no secret that the pandemic has been a nightmare for all of us this year. We now have a vaccine but it won't be widely available for many months. That's still a hugely positive…

My kids cooked me dinner and I’m blown away

One of the things we've been working on during lockdown is life skills. I try to make the best use of all the time we have available to us and it's paying off. First of all, while Elliott and Emmett are both on the autism spectrum, they're incredibly high functioning. Aside from anxiety, SPD and ADHD, they do very well. The reason I point that out is because when I work on life skills, there's a difference between the way I approach the boys and the way I approach Gavin. They're two very different situations. For the last few weeks, Elliott and Emmett have been learning to cook. They never really showed much interest until recently and have picked it up very quickly. Elliott's big thing is scrambled eggs and…
