When you are a special needs educator and need to make a job change, please provide notice and help the kids prepare for your departure.. Here's a great example of what to do.. :-)

It seems that Gavin's asthma is getting worse. We're having to use his rescue inhaler every 4 hours.

Some kids don’t run to the playground or jump into group games. One year ago this week, my son Gavin—who’s 25 and autistic—moved out of the home he grew up in and into a group home. It was a huge milestone. For most of his life, we were told something like this would never be possible. When your child is first diagnosed with autism, you’re thrown into a world you didn’t plan for — and it’s overwhelming.
