You may have noticed some changes around here

You may have noticed some changes to the site over the last couple of days. I'm pretty excited about these changes because some of them hold special meaning to me. The most obvious is the theme I'm using. I've been using the same theme for most of The Autism Dad's existence. Contrary to everyone in my house and a large portion of my readers, I like change. Sometimes I just need a change to help me keep moving forward. I know that change can upset some of you and I know this because I receive strongly worded emails, from very nice people with Autism, telling me that you're upset about the changes I make from time to time. I'm sorry if these recent changes have caused you any distress and…

#Autism can certainly make marriage more challenging but we’re celebrating 15 years today

Today is a very special day. Lizze and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. We've been married for 15 years today. That's crazy for a number of reasons. First of all, times flies. Secondly, there was a time not too long ago, where it looked like our marriage had ended. It was the darkest, most difficult time of my life. Lizze and I spent 2 years apart before reconciling. We've been back together for a few years now. Life had gotten in our way. Lizze had suffered caregiver burnout, although we didn't know that at the time, and it seemed like our world collapsed. While things aren't perfect, we're doing well and have learned a great deal in the process. We must take care of ourselves. We must take…

Congratulations Wishes Can Happen and @mix941canton

I wanted to take a second let you guys know how the Wish-A-Thon went. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this year's Wish-A-Thon such a success. The final numbers are in and Wishes Can Happen raised $213,759, which I believe is a record. I also believe that they exceeded their goal of being able to raise enough money to grant 40 wishes. This is so unbelievably awesome. I'm grateful to have played a very small role and I'm blown away by the generosity of everyone. This will make such a difference in the lives of so many families. Thank you again. ☺

I’m back and here’s the deal

I've finally everything up and running. Things are looking good on my end and I've converted everything (except my email) over to .org. I just wanted to drop a line, share that everything is finally done and that included Facebook everything. Please remember to click the Like/Share button when you read a post, I've got a ton of ground to make up and every Like/Share is a big step in the right direction. ☺ If you happen to notice amythinf out of whack, please drop me a line and let me know. I'm pretty sure I've fixed everything but when you've been staring at something for 3 or 4 days, it's easy to miss something.. ☺ Thank you for your continued support.

Awesome news

I've spent the last 15 hours rebuilding the server from the ground up. The main reason for doing this was because with theautismdad.com permanently banned On Facebook, there too many things broken as a result. For example, logging into the site with Facebook was impossible, as was a few other behind the scenes things tied to my Facebook app. It was necessary to reimage the server in order to make the changes necessary to overcome this particular obstacle. I had planned on making this particular change at some point anyway, the events of the last few months simply forced me to move up my timeline a bit. You may or may not know but my ultimate goal is to create a non-profit foundation that does what I'm already doing and…

How it all began

It's been a great day and I'm going to bed tonight, feeling extremely accomplished.. ☺ I have spent a great deal of time, working on something very important to me and I hope you'll find it interesting as well. I have successfully merged over 7,000 posts from Lost and Tired, dating all the way back to January, 2010. That's where it all began. Our complete story is now accessible on this blog. You can click here, to begin reading from the very beginning. In my tenur, I've written and published over 11,000 posts and articles. Putting this together was a monumental undertaking, partly because of the enormous database but also because it was incredibly tedious. I will say that there is a gap between June of 2014 and August of…

A Major Announcement

I'm going to make this brief because I'm exhausted and need to get to bed. For a long time now, I've been wanting to restore my original blog Lost and Tired because that blog contains thousands and thousands posts that date back to the very beginning of our story. I haven't gotten around to bringing this back because frankly, I need to completely rebuild the site, clean up the old database as well as upload ten gigs worth of media, and that's huge PITA. Thursday morning, I finally decided to bite the bullet and rebuild the site. It was a project and a frustrating one at that but I got back up. It's a very basic site and there will likely be some things that are missing, namely YouTube videos…
