Today is one of those days that I have to watch Gavin very closely, so that he doesn't hurt himself or anyone else. He's having a very fast paced day thus far.  Lately, Gavin's really been struggling with the whole concept of slowing down. He's doing everything at hyperspeed and quite often hurts himself in the process. He can also inadvertently hurts others as well. It's likely part of being manic but he's has a natural tendency to be a little speed racer.  When he's in one of these speed racer places, he becomes more clumsy and is more likely to trip over his own feet and drop everything he picks up. I mentioned earlier that something had happened to Elliott today. For awhile now, I've felt like something was bothering him and for some reason, he wouldn't tell me what that something was. Everything sorta came to a head today and resulted in a mini nervous breakdown type of thing.  While I'm not saying that's what it was, it's the only way I can think to describe it.  He completely broke  down and spent a large part of the afternoon sobbing and hiding.  The trigger was when I was fixing his stuffed animal that was missing an eye.  He has this stuffed kitten that was missing an eye.  I used an old, no longer used stuffed animal and did a double eye transplant.  It worked out really well but in a…

Now that the server is back up and running, I wanted to share some of the artwork the boys have done and I have backlogged. This is Elliott's latest freehand drawing. It's Sonic the Hedgehog.  Ironically, this was inspired by Gavin's obsession with Sonic. I suppose that ironic is the wrong word. Anyway, Elliott did a really good job on this and Gavin was really proud of him. So Gavin was kind enough to color a picture for his Grandma. He worked really hard on it and did a really good job. This picture is of Princess Peach as a baby. Princess Peach is from, you guessed it,  Super Mario Brothers.  He certainly doesn't stray to far from what he knows but he does a good job...doesn't he? Today has been long and frustrating. I spent the morning on the phone, trying to find out what was going on with the server.  Since all of my sites are on the same server, they were all down.  After getting that fixed, I spent the rest of the day with the boys. Emmett had a pretty rough day but he does seem to be doing better today and that's great. Late this afternoon, he feel asleep in the cutest position.  He was hiding and ended up going to sleep.  He finally found some peace and we finally found some quiet. Later on, we rescued an injured baby bird and gave it a safe place to recover, so that the feral cats wouldn't get to it.  I love the fact that…

I'm completely exhausted and Emmett's been up since before sunrise, screaming.  His mouth sores have really taken their toll on him.  This is the worst fever flare to-date.  He's miserable and unfortunately, taking everyone with him. Emmett won't take the medications that will kill his pain because even flavored, they taste horrible and he ends up throwing everything right back up. Which essentially makes things worse. I can tell that it's already going to be a very, very long day. At the time of writing this post, Lost and Tired is still down do to a server crash.
