How old was your kid when they were diagnosed with autism? When my son was first diagnosed, I left the doctor’s office with a pamphlet and two phone numbers. No guidance. No support. Just isolation. Survival mode happens when your brain and body stay stuck in a constant state of alert. It’s what happens after years of stress, uncertainty, and caregiving where rest never feels safe.
