Trying to set a positive example for my kids

It's been a pretty quiet day. I'm moving a bit slower today because I hurt in places I didn't even know I had. I workout almost every day and 70 minutes of Yoga has made me question everything I've been doing. LOL I cranked my mattress up to 117°F, used it like a full body heating pad, and was able to get a ton of work done this afternoon. I picked up a couple of new clients and that should prove to be a good thing. The original plan for the day was to take the kids hiking but it rained all afternoon. We were going to pick my mom up and take her with us but now we're going to shoot for later this week, assuming the weather cooperates.…

Life is way too short

I was having kind of a rough morning, and you know what? It happens. I'm a grown man and while sometimes it's difficult to not allow my anxiety to get the better of me, I consciously choose a different path this morning. It wasn't easy. The absolute last thing I wanted to do this morning was go workout. I wasn't really in the headspace for that, and a few months ago, I would have allowed those feelings to win. I would have given up before I even got started but not anymore. Thankfully, I'm not the same me that I was a few months ago because I didn't let my mood win. I’m making progress

Today is my second full day with the Fitbit Ionic. I'm really pumped to be using this to help me with my weight-loss journey. I'm very motivated to make the changes in my life that I need to, in order to improve my health, both mentally and physically. I'm setting reasonable goals and achieving them. Once I feel I've mastered a certain goal, I'll set a new one for myself. The Fitbit app helps me set, monitor and achieve my goals. Check out the screenshot from the Fitbit app, detailing my efforts for today. I still have a long way to go but every step forward gets me one step closer to my goal. If you have a Fitbit account and want to friend me, that'd be awesome. We can…

I drank 72 ounces of water today. Is that enough?

This is totally random but has been the topic of debate between my wife and I. Feel free to weigh in and share your experience or knowledge.  Here's the question...  How much water should the average person drink in a given day?  This is a really important question because how much water you consume in a day can have a significant impact on your overall health and wellness. The problem is, there's so much conflicting information out there and it's tough to know the good info from the bad.  The rule used to be, drink eight, eight ounce glasses of water a day. Now the new recommendation is to drink half of your boy weight in ounces a day.  I don't know about you but getting 64 ounces of water…
