What’s up folks

What's up folks. It's been a eventful week and I've not had much time for writing. There's been a lot going on and I'm actually doing pretty good. I don't really have anything to complain about. I feel incredibly lucky to be completely honest. I knocked out two fantastic recordings this week and I've cleared my entire recording schedule. I'm booked for a few interviews in the near future but I'm not going to be recording anything myself for probably a few weeks. I'm so far behind on editing and I have enough already recorded to get me through the summer. I'm pretty excited about that. Also, I'm down another 20+ pounds since the beginning of the year and it feels pretty amazing, I'm not gonna lie. As of roughly…

It’s been a little while, we should catch up

It's been a really great week. I've been doing really well and while there have been some hiccups, the good far outweighs the bad. The biggest issue I've had to deal with was my Rodecaster Pro failing after a really important interview. It's getting replaced but it's causing delays. I had to reschedule a big interview with the Cleveland Clinic. It was supposed to release as we enter into autism awareness month but it's now going to be delayed by at least a week. I've also made another decision and it was a difficult one to make, but I think it's for the best. I'm spread kinda thin and I don't think that's any big secret. Between the blog and the podcast, it can get overwhelming at times. I'm making…

I solved a simple but nagging problem

I've been back in my makeshift studio recording season 4 of my podcast and I've had this one nagging problem that I haven't been able to fix. That's not exactly true. The truth is, I haven't been willing to take the time needed to fix it properly. It's not a huge deal but it's annoying as all get out. Part of the reason for the delay in properly repairing was that I wanted to enlist Emmett's help in troubleshooting and see if he could come up with a working solution. If you look at the underside of my table, you'll see a mess of cables. I wanted to make the table include everything without having multiple cords plugged into the limited outlets in my room. I ran one powers trip…

I love sharing good news

I wanted to share a couple of updates that are actually quite positive for a change. For those who don't know, Gavin's absolute favorite snack in the entire world is Little Debbie Swiss Rolls. They're simply his thing and have been for as long as I can remember. For his 21st birthday, I wanted to surprise him with a whole bunch of Swiss Rolls. I ordered a case on Amazon and it finally showed up. There's about 100 Swiss Rolls and he was in heaven. 😂 Being the sweetheart that he is, he wanted to share with his brothers and gave them each a box. He wanted to give them more but I limited it to one box each because I really want this to be for Gavin. Before the…

So this is what my day will look like

The kids don't have school today and that means less distraction for me. At the same time, that means less distraction for them as well. Unfortunately, that also means I'm going to have to run interference because they're likely to get on each other's nerves. I need to accomplish a couple of things today and one of those things is getting today's episode up on time. That means I'll be staring at this screen for the next couple of hours. I really enjoyed this weeks conversation and should have it ready for your ears later today. The other thing I have to do is mulch the goddamn leaves again. It's only like the 4th time this week. I'd say about 90% of the leaves are down and so this should…

When it comes to remote learning, my youngest is out of shits to give

It's been a frustrating day for me and if there was a circus nearby, I might have just run away and joined it. The day started out rough and it just went downhill from there. Actually, it was a rough night prior because Emmett struggled to sleep and literally glued himself to me and that pretty much killed any hopes of me finding sleep. The boys did great in class today. Good for them, I'm very proud. Emmett is struggling a bit with what amounts to the remote learning version of homework. He keeps falling behind and it's clear that remote learning is a struggle for him. It's frustrating for me because I know this isn't what he normally does and trying to constantly stay on him about it, without…

The Parent 2 Parent Series (feat. Wendy Valente) S3E33

I go into these interviews blind. The idea is to meet another special needs parent for the first time. Get to know them. Have a raw, unfiltered conversation. Learn about their life and family. Share experiences and insights with the overall goal of reminding everyone listening just how beautiful and unique every special needs family is.
