Every night when Emmett goes to bed, he puts his glasses on top of his dresser. Every morning when he wakes up, the first thing he does is put his glasses right back on. However, this morning was different. When he reached up for his glasses they were gone.  By the time we were able to locate them, it was too late.  This is what we found.  There is only one creature in our entire house capable of doing this act of depravity to Emmett's glasses.  The guilty party was none other than the klepto-kitty himself, Blue.  Blue is the cat that was guilty of stealing my last bluetooth headset and chewing it up. I talked many times about the impact Reactive Attachment Disorder has on our family.  Gavin was caught messing with Elliott's head this morning.  When Gavin is in one of these situations and he's messing with someone, he's very careful not to get caught. This morning was messing with Elliott and causing a great deal of confusion.  It was nothing outwardly evil or anything like that. He was just pretending not to hear Elliott, knowing that Elliott was getting upset.  I realize that brothers mess with each other however, when one brother is a RAD kid, it's a safe bet that the innocence of sibling teasing doesn't apply. This is one of those posts where I climb up on my soapbox and impart a few pearls of wisdom. I know, I hate unsolicited advice as much as the next person so think of this as more of a sharing of life lessons, I learned the hard way. I just spoke with the owner of the poor little puppy that was viciously mauled by the male Blue Nose Pitbull last week. The puppy is doing pretty well, all things considered. You may recall from my earlier post that the Pitbull ripped off about an inch and a half of the puppy's tail. I was told today that it will likely lose another inch and a half below when it had been torn and left dangling.  They will be meeting with the dog warden in the morning and figure out how to proceed from there.  Being that this is far from the first attack my this particular dog, it will likely be destroyed.  It's really sad but to be honest, it's the right thing to do.  A dog like…

It's been a long time since we have done something as a family, aside from going to the park. In fact, the last time we did something was a couple of months ago and that was a trip to the zoo. Today the cabin fever got to be overwhelming and we had to do something.  As you know, we're broke as a joke.  What could we possibly do? We got the boys paperwork in the mail today.  We spoke with the school and learned the teacher assignments for this year.  We are very, very pleased with the boys teachers this year, not that we weren't last year though. Orientation us next week and I for one am really, really, really, really excited. This will mark the very first time that all three boys are in school, all day. It's like respite every day. I can't wait to get caught up on everything and get my writing career back on track. It's so important that we have an open dialog about things relating to Autism and Parenting.  When people outside the community read these discussions, they gain massive amounts of insight and Autism Awareness. We just got off the phone with Akron Children's Hospital and have secured Gavin's IVIG Infusion date. Unfortunately, it's a bit farther out than I would have liked to see, because they are booked solid. Gavin will be infused next Monday.  Yes,  it's a week out and yes that concerns me. However, there isn't anything that we can do at this point. Gavin will be fine, it just pushes his schedule from the beginning of the moth to the middle of the month. This kind of thing can happen and I could spend all day beating myself up for having to reschedule in the first place.
