My boys and I deserve to be happy

So I’ve come to a decision pertaining to our house and I feel pretty good about it. First of all, do we need to move? Yes! Would it be nice to move right now? Yes!  Is right now the best time to move? Probably not.

There are so many changes going on in my life right now that making this kind of major move is probably ill advised. That being said, I do have a plan and if something does pop up that is a good fit, I’ll definitely be looking into it.

The current plan is to give the house a minor facelift.

My Dad called this morning to let me know that he’s excited to get the process rolling. The current delay is simply related to COVID. My parents will be fully vaccinated in the next three weeks and I’ll be done before the end of April. Once that happens, we can safely have interactions with other vaccinated people, meaning my Dad and come over and help give our house a facelift.

We’re going to be doing some painting and probably replace the second floor carpet. This will be an ongoing project that will likely last most of the summer and that’s perfectly okay. We want to tackle the kitchen, bedrooms and hallways. I want to put vinyl in the bathroom as well. We’re also going to repaint the front and back porch. This is a relatively inexpensive way of improving our lives. It might be labor intensive but not to costly.

The boys and I have been through a lot. Honestly, we’ve been in survival mode for so long and when you’re in survival mode, you do only the most essential things. Thankfully, we’ve pulled through and have begun living life rather than just surviving it. When you have four guys living together, it can become like a college dorm and while it helped us to get through the last year and a half of our lives, it’s time to put everything back together.

I’m so motivated to get working on this and will start with some of the basics and build from there.

That feels so amazing.

Today we’re going to get some Spring cleaning done and see how it goes. The boys want to do some work in the yard as well. I don’t see why we can’t do that today. My car is still in the body shop so it’s not like we can actually go anywhere.

There is so much going right in my life and I really want to get this stuff done.

The boys and I deserve to be happy and live our best life. I fully intend on making that happen. The boys are doing well and I’ve never been this happy before. Life is full of ups and downs but don’t give up because you never know when the most amazing person might walk into your life or maybe you find the job of your dreams. Never quit and keep finding the strength and courage to get back up after you fall.

We all fall sometimes and that’s okay. What matters is not how many times you fall but rather how many times you get back up.
