This past week has been a grueling one, for all of us in the Lost and Tired family.  We had more appointments than I care to remember and more than our fair share of bad news. Do you yell too much? I don't know how easy this question is to answer, for a number of reasons.  Having said that, and in the spirit of honesty, I'll admit that this is something I personally struggle with.  Now, it's not like I'm screaming at my kids with Autism because I'm angry or frustrated.  I mean, maybe sometimes but only on rare occasions when I'm completely overloaded.  That certainly doesn't make it right but I'm only human and I'm not ashamed to admit that.  What I find most often is that I'm having to raise my voice over the noise and chaos, simply to get someone's attention.  Sometimes is simply a volume thing and not an anger or frustration thing. I'm still feeling quite crappy today.  Lizze let me sleep in until 11 am. That wasn't easy for her to do and I'm grateful.  :-) Today is a laid back, do nothing kind of day.  Lizze is sleeping and the boys and I are watching Justice League on Netflix.  Emmett's actually fallen asleep and Elliott is snuggled up with Miss Bella on the other couch.  After a long weekend, this is a lighter, more pleasant side of today. Raising kids with Autism and Sensory processing issues is challenging. Rewarding.....but challenging. Between routines, loud noises, bright lights and tactile issues, it's like a never ending battle. My personal battle depression spans almost 2 decades. Like most things in life, I've had my ups and downs.  The same is still true today. Everyday that I wake up, I struggle to stay on top of the depression.  I've always tried to stay in control of it, instead of it controlling me. For me, it's better to look at it this way. Depression is a tricky bastard and something that is horribly, horribly stigmatized in our society.  While I don't have the statistics on me, I do know that I am far from the only ones fighting this often misunderstood and invisible condition. I take Paxil everyday to help me manage my depression and it does seem to help. There are many different medications out there to help with…

The Lost and Tired family is broke as a joke. However, that doesn't mean that we can't find ways of having fun with the kids.  Today, we took the boys to one of our local playgrounds and let them have at it. They had a really good time and so did we.  The cost was very affordable, even on our limited budget. Everyone got some exercise and Lizze didn't have to make her knee any worse. I swear to God,  sometimes I just want to give up and just stop.  Life is so full of frustration for me at times that I just can't cope with it anymore.  There is always and I mean always something that comes up or something that we have have to work around. I wanted to take the kids to the park and let them have some fun, but Lizze can barely walk because of her knees and so I would have to do this on my own.  In the frame of mind I'm in, I don't think it's a good idea for me to try this on my own.  I'm tired and don't feel well and these guys are so full of energy and anxiety, that they would be all…
