One of the many jobs of an Autism parent is to try and decipher what their child needs, especially when that child isn't able to vocalize it for themselves. As any Autism parent can tell you, this can be an exhaustive, frustrating and all too often heartbreaking situation for both the parents and the child. Sometimes you have words to help guide you towards what your child needs, other times all you can do is observe and interpret behaviors. It's really difficult to explain what this is like, in a way that can put the non-Autism parent in the shoes of someone that struggles with communicating on even a basic level with their child. "10 Things That Special Needs Parents Wished You Knew"   This post is dedicated to all the special needs parents of the world. We live a very challenging life and it's very difficult to help the world comprehend what we experience. My hope is that this will provide some insight. Please share this and help spread the world if you like this. :-)   1.) I'm not lazy. 10 Things my Autistic kids wished you knew

Written by me, Rob Gorski and dedicated to my amazingly beautiful children.  1. I’m sorry I have meltdowns but I’m not a spoiled brat. I’m just so much younger on the inside than I am on the outside. 2. I’m easily overwhelmed because I see and hear everything. I hear the lights hum and clock tick. Everything is so loud it makes my head hurt all the time and my eyes hurt from all the bright lights.   3. I’m not stupid, I’m actually very smart. I just don’t learn the way you want me to. Please learn about Autism so you know how to help me better understand what you are trying to teach. 4. Please don’t be mad at mommy and daddy because we don’t come over for holidays or…
