One of the best moments from our Florida vacation A few days into our stay at Give Kids the World, the village received a visit from Santa Claus. Emmett and Gavin were beside themselves as they waited for the day to arrive where they got to see Santa. Elliott was not so excited because he's at that age. If you ask the kids, this was probably one of their most cherished moments from our trip. On a side note, I just realized that we left without our pictures of the boys with Santa. I took this one but they took family pictures as well.

I think my soul needed a recharge

I've been unusually tired this week. I suppose I need time to recover from our vacation. It's also possible that I'm fighting off what Lizze, Elliott and Emmett have been dealing with. Either way, while I'm short on energy, I'm feeling a renewed sense of hope and that's priceless. While we were at Give Kids the World, I didn't have to worry about anything. It was an escape from a significant amount of the things that cause me distress. I've been trying to figure out a way to better explain what happened to me while I was on vacation and I think I know how to do that now. Our final day and the Castle of Miracles

I meant to share this the other night but our return trip didn't go as planned and I didn't have time. The very last thing we did at Give Kids the World Village before departing for home was to have a star for Gavin placed within the Castle of Miracles. Each wish child gets this little star and they are supposed to sign and decorate it. They will then leave it at the Castle of Miracles and while they're sleeping, a fairy comes and places the star on the ceiling of the castle. Walking into the Castle of Miracles and seeing how many stars are on the ceiling is simply breathtaking. Each star represents one wish child that has stayed in the Village and the number is far too numerous…

Sea World: Day 6 @GKTWVillage

They say time flies when you're having fun and it's true. We've been at Give Kids the World for six days now and we're leaving to make our way home in the morning. On our final day here, we decided to go to Sea World. While I have some fundamental issues with Sea World, the kids may never have a chance to experience something like this again. The Sea World close to us is no longer open and honestly, having seen the documentary Blackfish, I'm not too upset about that. I’m ready to get back to my imperfect life

We've been gone for a week. That's seven days longer than we've ever been gone before. It's been an amazing experience and I've enjoyed every single minute of it. Having said that, I'm ready to get home. I'm ready to see Maggie and get back to our imperfect life. I truly miss our imperfect life. We're going to be leaving in the morning and making our way back to Ohio. I have roughly two, eight hour drives between me and my house. I'll be sad leaving Give Kids the World because it's absolutely amazing here, but it's time to part ways and get back to the real world. It’s our last full day at Give Kids the World (@GKTWVillage)

It's our last day at Give Kids the World and we can't get a consensus of what everyone wants to do. It's more like what everyone feels up to doing. Elliott and Emmett don't want to even go to breakfast, but they do want to go to SeaWorld. It does appear that the bulk of the rain will be holding off unril later this afternoon. That would allow us to pull off SeaWorld. Personally, I'm feeling exhausted and not at all looking forward to the eighteen hour drive home tomorrow. Can we just stay here, and make this our new home?
