If he’s not doing better, we’ll probably have to seriously consider taking him to the ER. He’s going to need fluids via IV. You’re not going to vomit from IV fluids because they going directly into your blood stream. It’s the fastest way to hydrate someone.

The big concern right now is fluids. He needs to not only in get them but he also needs to keep them down. Obviously, we’re going to have to increase his fluid intake today and with any luck, this will pass without consequence.

I know in my heart that I’m doing everything I possibly can for my family. I won’t let anyone, who hasn’t walked a mile in my shoes, get to me. It’s easy to read a few posts and think you know better than those on the ground and in the trenches.

In the last two years, he’s lost his immune system, been diagnosed with epilepsy and developed severe Autonomic Dysfunction. Now he’s losing weight and becoming increasingly more medically fragile. This weight thing has me pretty freaked out because even though his caloric intake has increased this year, he’s still losing weight.

We were at Akron Children’s Hospital all day. We got there around 8:30am and finally got home around 5pm….. It was such a long day, full of anxiety, fear, stress and pure emotional drain.

I’ll be honest, I’m really freaked out. Gavin is scaring me to the point I feel sick to my stomach. He’s lost 25+ lbs since June and his diet hasn’t been reduced. In fact, it’s been increased and he’s still losing weight. He weights 110 lbs now and that really scares me.

I really concerned about Gavin because he’s not getting over this respiratory bug. His cough is much worse than last week and Lizze and I are hesitant to send him to school because he has a severely compromised immune system to start with.

I think I overreacted just a little bit. In all fairness though, in this situation, I think it’s better to overreact than underreact. We’ve never had him sick since we found out about his Immunodeficiency. I totally panicked and I’m okay admitting that.
