No pukers allowed

Emmett had a great day at school today and Elliott is still sick. When I picked Emmett up, one of the staff members told me that four kids went home due to vomiting. That sucks because it tends to spread through the school. I'm hoping that the weekend will be enough to avoid that kind of stomach bug nightmare. There are no plans for the weekend ahead and I'm okay with that. I'm just working on the house and slowly getting somewhere..

Emmett did a great job

Emmett got off to school this moring without any major problems. We had to swing by Walgreens and pick up a few things for his lunch, before dropping him off at school. He actually did a great job of picking his things out. Historically, Emmett doesn't do well with making decisions, especially when there's a time limit. He didn't have any major issues making his choices and we were off to school, with his lunch in tow.. ☺

Another Lego creation by Gavin

I've no idea what he's calling this particular masterpiece, but he built it while hanging out with my Mom the other day. She was kind enough to send me a picture and I'm sharing it with you. Gavin in loves sharing pictures of his Lego creations. The little dog next to him is Cleo, the dog I rescued after she was thrown from a moving car awhile back. She now calls my parents house home and is well loved. ☺ Feel free to leave a positive comment below. I'll pass them along to Mr. Gavin.. ☺

Another missed day of school

Mr. Elliott will be home sick once again. He seems to be feeling better during the day but worse towards bedtime. That's pretty common I think. The problem is that he was running a fever yesterday afternoon and hasn't been fever free for twenty-four hours yet. I'm going to try and get all his makeup work sent home for the weekend. He doesn't do well when overwhelmed by things like a shitload of makeup work. This way he can do a little at a time and survive it. ☺ Hopefully, he'll feel better over the weekend and return to school on Monday. ☺

It’s not looking good at this point

First of all, things aren't looking good for the many people in the path of Hurricane Irma. My heart goes out to all in its path, as well as those putting their lives back together in its wake. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who lost their lives in this truly terrible storm. I've been talking to people familiar with where we're supposed to be going, as well as surviving hurricane weather. It's looking like we may actually have to reschedule our trip. We won't know until we know, but it's not looking good at this point. This trip is a big deal for my family, but it's just a trip. We can reschedule or worst case scenario, make alternate plans. I can't even begin to imagine…

The zero mistake and how it broke the bank

One of the reasons I've been so stressed out over the last few days is because of what I'm calling the zero mistake. The last week or so has been unbelievably busy. Between medical emergencies with Lizze's Dad and everything going on with Gavin, I'm a bit frazzled. Frankly, my nerves are fried. Last Saturday, I had to make a run back home from the hospital to get something for Lizze and as I pulled back into the parking deck, I remembered that I needed to pay the gas bill. I hopped on my tablet and made my $86.50 payment. It was a relief to be able to do that, as well as not forgetting to do that, especially with everything going on. Unfortunately, I made the zero mistake. I…

Elliott’s home sick AGAIN

As I mentioned last night, Elliott is home sick again today. He went back to school yesterday but came home with a fever. He's spent most of the day resting and watching Netflix. Yesterday, he came home with a his make up work and has completed all of it already. At least he's not going to be too far behind when he goes back, hopefully tomorrow.

Tonight’s meltdown just about pushed me over the edge

We lived through a massive Emmett meltdown this evening. This particular meltdown was in regards to his dinner and it was a doozy, as well as being partly my fault. Emmett is very sensitive when it comes to food. He has major sensory related issues that make feeding him very challenging because the menu of foods that he'll eat is very limited. I was making him and Elliott dinner last night. They both wanted corndogs. The corn dogs have to be cooked a certain way, or Emmett won't eat them. First, we have to microwave it for thirty seconds, no more no less. If the crust cracks, he won't touch it so we have to be careful. After the microwave, the corn dog goes into the air fryer for seven…
