What happened to my son with fragile health today

In case you’re a little tardy to the party, Gavin and I had to make another trip to the Cleveland Clinic today. This was a follow-up with pediatric urology.

Gavin’s struggles with bladder issues. They refer to these issues as frequency and urgency.

These symptoms are a side effect of his antipsychotic medication, Clozapine. Anyway, we drove about three hours for a fifteen minute appointment but it’s totally worth it if this helps him.
The long and short of the matter is that Gavin will soon start a new medication that will help to relax his bladder and hopefully, reduce or eliminate the symptoms that have been making him so miserable.

Looks like we made it

We had a slight change of plans this morning because Lizze isn’t feeling well but Gavin and I made it to the Cleveland Clinic.

We’re on the 9th floor of the Q building waiting to be called back.

They have these little tags that Gavin wears to let his doctor know he’s here.  That’s pretty cool… Hopefully, this will be quick and painless cause I’m exhausted….

A difficult trip to the Cleveland Clinic

We have a really busy day today because we will be returning to the Cleveland Clinic once again.

This trip will be Gavin’s return to urology. We’re hoping beyond hope that they will be able to help him with the bladder issues he’s been suffering from as a result of the anti-psychotic he’s taking called Clozapine.

The physical trip itself is likely to be difficult because of his constant need to go to the bathroom.… Read More

A Full Gavin Update: The Good News and The Bad News

It’s been a really long day but it’s finally over. As you know, Gavin and I spent the day at the Cleveland Clinic. Our trip was in regards to his bladder issues.

We finally made it to the @ClevelandClinic

Gavin and I just made it to the Cleveland Clinic. Traffic was a nightmare between construction, detours and overturned semi blocking the detour on ramp.

We actually made it to the registration desk only two minutes late. That’s pretty fricking amazing considering everything that was working against us.

Gavin did really well on the way up. We had one little hiccup but he was able to distract himself enough to make the trip without stopping to use the bathroom.

At the moment, we’re waiting to go back to get the ultrasound on his kidneys.

Wish us luck… ☺
