Trying to figure out what's triggering certain behaviors or causing distress is sometimes a guessing game because my kids can't always just say what's bothering them. It's not that they don't want to either.  It's that they don't know how. (part 2)

What’s one thing you wish people understood about parenting a neurodivergent child? #parenting #TheAutismDad #autism My autistic son Gavin is 25 now and living independently, but that protective instinct never really goes away. @angelsensefamily helps me support his independence without losing connection. I can check in, see where he is, and even talk to him if he needs help — all without hovering. I wish I had this when he was younger. I’m so grateful we have it now.
