You won’t believe what the worst part of the eye appointment was for my son with #Autism

It's been such a long day and I'm sure you're all surprised to hear that I'm exhausted. I feel like I've been on the go for most of the day and spent all my remaining energy along the way. 😁  For this entry, I'm going to focus on Emmett's eye appointment. The rest can wait until later on.  The long and short of it is, Emmett's appoint went well. Emmett did a great job, especially considering how long we were at Akron Children's Hospital today. Emmett did great with the eye drops that dilated his eyes, and great with all the lights shone in his eyes during the exam.  All the things one would think he would struggle with, he did great.  That being said, there was one area he…

Review: Rechargeable Magnetic Night Light with Motion Sensor

Review of the Rechargeable Magnetic Night Light with Motion Sensor I received this item for review purposes. I accepted this review with the intention of using it as a night light for Elliott.. It arrived a couple of days ago and ended up being smaller than I had anticipated. Having said that, I actually appreciate the size it actually is because it works like a charm and Elliott loves it. I've used the mounting tape and stuck this to the underside of the top bunk in my kids room. This allows him to use a light at night without disturbing his brother on the top bunk.  The base sticks to the underside of the top bunk via double sided tape and the light itself sticks to the base via magnet.…

25 awesome pictures from today’s adventures

The boys and I went to the park today. They love hunting Pokémon but also hunting painted rocks. Theres a local movement where people are painting rocks and literally hiding them everywhere. Sometimes these rocks have a positive message and other times they're just beautiful works of art.  The idea behind this is for people to find them, take a pictures, uploaded to the Facebook page written in the back and then re-hide for others to find.  We've amassed about twenty of these rocks and today we decided to re-hide them all.  It sucks that Lizze was in too much pain to join us but we held some back so she could hide them when she's feeling better. The boys still had fun and while no one saw us hiding…

Taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather

With all the warm weather we were having, Lizze and I have been getting the boys to the park as often as possible. This is from the a few days ago, before the weather turned nasty once again.  If I recall correctly, it was about 60°F when we were exploring the garden center, earlier in the week.  Below are some of the pictures from our little adventure... ☺

We had such and awesome day today

We had a really awesome day. Aside from a few hiccups discussed in an earlier post, by all accounts we had a great day.  Lizze and I took the boys walking again today, right before dinner.  Unfortunately, we were competing with dusk and had to cut our walk short but I took all that into account when planning our turn around point. We ended up walking 2.02 miles and I didn't have to carry anyone. ☺  Emmett only had one my foot feels funny incident during the entire walk and that's awesome.   Our goal is to head out earlier in the day tomorrow and not so close to sundown. We'd like to do this as often as the weather allows because we're working on a healthier lifestyle and walking…
