Emmett’s sleep problems are getting worse

I seems like I make progress with Emmett and his sleeping challenges, only to cycle back to around with the slightest disturbance in his life.

He’s back to having a difficult time falling asleep by himself or at all.  That’s with melatonin and benadryl for his allergies.

Tonight, the only way he’d fall asleep is if he’s close to me.

He struggled with falling asleep again last night but was out within 30 seconds of being in proximity of me on the couch.

I moved him to his bed before I went to bed but he’ll eventually make his way into my room  and wrap himself around my arm or neck.

Honesty, I’m so tired from lack of restful sleep that I don’t even notice that he’s found me.

Sometimes I wake up in pain because he’s wrapped around me.

It’s hard to work through this when just about anything will send him back.

As an Autism parent, do you think you've become so used to the high levels of stress in your daily life that you've normalized it or no longer realize it's there?
