Guess who’s birthday it is

I want to take a minute and share that today is Lizze's birthday. We sorta celebrated last night with cake, but I want to take her out to dinner as soon as I get paid.  While I won't share her age, she's younger than me. ☺  I think this is the sixteenth birthday I've had the honor of celebrating with her. We've been together for almost our entire adult lives and it never gets old.  We've been through a great deal, survived and lived to celebrate another birthday together. ♥  Happy Birthday Lizze... ☺

She’s in a shitload of pain

The boys are officially gone and we are t-minus one hour until Lizze has to be at the doctors. They'll be gone until sometime tomorrow. I'm feeling a bit more energized own after hitting the treadmill for a bit.  I'm not sure what we're going to do tonight, because Lizze is still in a shitload of pain from the weather.  Maybe we'll pickup dinner and work on season 3 of iZombie.  Simply not having to worry about the boys is a huge, albeit temporary relief. ☺

Lizze isn’t doing so good

Lizze is definitely under the weather today because of the weather today. It's on and off storms, making life very painful for her to endure.  I'm hoping that she's feeling better as the day goes on, and after a long nap. It would be really nice for her and I to be able to do something, besides sleep, while the boys are gone.  If she's not feeling better, than the goal will be to make her as comfortable as possible, and maybe bring her dinner... ☺

Why we spent our down time feeling down

We've had a really long day. It was a mixed bag of good and bad, but it was a day we survived. In fact, there were even some times we thrived. ☺  I mentioned in a previous post that Elliott and Emmett had me up for most of the night. As a result, I got off to a rough start this morning.  Lizze was struggling as well because of one of her health issues.  We had a relatively lazy afternoon because we both felt like shit. It sucks that we had to spend our down time feeling down, but if the kids were here it would have been so much more difficult.  Thankfully, we both felt better as the afternoon wore on. After dinner, we went for a nice long…

All that matters is that they get to go

The boys are gone, and on their way to the Akron Zoo with their Grandparents. That's a bit of mixed emotion for us, because we wanted to take the boys, but all that matters is that they get to go. We'll just take them to the Cleveland Zoo in a few weeks.  As far as how Lizze and I are going to make use of the time, that's changed a bit.  I was able to get some sleep after a sleepless night with the boys. As a result, I feel much better. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Lizze.  After eating lunch this afternoon, she's now sick to her stomach. This time is particularly bad and she's down for the count. It's a Gastroparesis thing, and will eventually pass…

Our afternoon took an unexpected turn

Our afternoon took an unexpected detour. Lizze called from class, not feeling well. The boys and I ended up making the trek to rescue Lizze and bring her home so she can rest.  Maybe we have something going around.  Emmett was complaining of a tummy ache again this morning, but Elliott's feeling better. Hopefully this will pass quickly and we will get things back on track, asap.. ☺

A MAJOR change this week

I'm getting ready to welcome week of change. This will mark the first full week of Lizze's new class.  She finished up her first of three consecutive intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) classes last week, and begins the second today.  This will be a significant change in schedule because she only has class twice a week now, and only in the afternoon.  She really likes this particular class because it's art based therapy, and that's right up her alley. Lizze loves everything about art, making this type of therapy, a perfect fit for her.  I'm so proud of her because I know this isn't easy, but these classes have such a positive impact on her, and subsequently on the rest of us. No matter how difficult these classes get, she doesn't…
