4 Ferrets and 50 Feet of Corrugated Pipe

I've been getting a ton of requests for more videos of our ferrets. The boys and I spent some time setting up a new playground for our furry friends. We picked up fifty feet of corrugated pipe from Home Depot and sorta turned it into a huge maze of tunnels for the ferrets to play in. They love running through tunnels and have been having a blast with their new playground. Anyway, here's the video I just put up on my channel, explaining what we did and sharing some information about the ferrets themselves. https://youtu.be/V-kVh_wS_wA

What the hell is Common Variable Immunodeficiency?

With all the recent talk surrounding Gavin's immunological issues, I thought I would put something together that would help to educate those among us who may not know what CVID is or what it means to be diagnosed with it. Here's a quick 5-minute rundown or what Common Variable Immunodeficiency is and who it impacts Gavin. https://youtu.be/VvuuWe-8QR4

The Life-Threatening Reason Gavin’s Surgery was canceled (video)

As you likely already know, Gavin was scheduled for surgery at Akron Children's Hospital yesterday. Everything went as planned but we ran into a problem. I summed everything up in the video below because it was easier to talk about it than try to explain in writing. I'll quickly explain what happened before leaving you to the video for the details. Gavin's surgery was canceled at the very last minute and I mean that literally. He was just about to go into surgery when two issues came up. One was workable but one of them led to everything being canceled. The first issue was legal but more of an ethical concern than a legal one. While this did come up and I share this in the spirit of honesty, it's…

I’m losing my son to Childhood Disintegrative Disorder

This was a very difficult video to record. I did my best to hold it together but talking about Childhood Disintegrative Disorder and how it's impacted my oldest son, Gavin, is incredibly painful. CDD is a very rare and regressive form of Autism. A child will develop typically, hitting appropriate milestones and then one day, around the age of 4, everything changes. You can read more about CDD here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Childhood_disintegrative_disorder   https://youtu.be/ac-TKjVm8x8

#Autism 101: Understanding Meltdows

Do you know the difference between an Autism related Meltdown and a tantrum? If you said no, you're probably not alone. Meltdowns are easily one of the most misunderstood facets of Autism and I'm going to help you better understand. When you're done, please help me share it so I can continue educating the public about Autism and Autism Parenting. We desperately need awareness and as Autism becomes more prevalent, more and more people are going to be touched by it. https://youtu.be/fsINiP4G-A8

We had an UNBELIEVABLE surprise today (Must See)

It's been an amazing day and I'll go into more detail tomorrow. I'm not feeling well at the moment and I'm going to try to go to bed early. I put together a quick video, showing you guys the martial arts promotion from today. I'm not going to ruin the surprise but what happened at the end of Emmett's promotion literally had me in tears. It was an amazing surprise and I can't wait to share it with you guys. We're so proud of both Elliott and Emmett. They've worked so hard this year, both inside and outside of the dojo. This was the most amazing day I can remember having in a very long time. I'm so proud... ☺ 💙 https://youtu.be/3FRvByjO81A

Can pets have a positive impact on kids with #Autism?

I'm frequently asked about whether or not I think pets can have a positive impact on kids with Autism. I decided to make today's video on this very topic and hopefully it helps to answer some of your questions. Again, this is based on my experience over the last 17 years, but every family is different. What works for my family may or may not work for yours. This is intended to simply answer the question and provide you with some things to think about, prior to making a decision adding a pet to your special needs family. This is not meant to be a philosophical debate over whether or not a special needs family should take on the added responsibility of a pet. It simply discussing the whether or…
