What parent wants to see their child beat the shit out of themselves?

Self-injurious behavior is also very disruptive to the rest of the house. It's loud, violent and even though it's directed inward (meaning Gavin only physically hurts himself), it still hurts everyone else as well.

I wrote this years ago. 🫶 Hey everyone. Thank you for your interest in sharing your autism parenting story on The Autism Dad Podcast. I’ve been talking about a new podcast series I have in development, and so many of you have expressed interest in sharing your story. I finally got the sign-up form created and I wanted to share this and give everyone a chance to learn more and sign up if interested. I’ve been an autism dad for 25 years and I still struggle with self-care almost every single day. This year has been a tough one for me.
