Today’s Voctory: Emmett and bedtime

Shortly before school started this year, all the progress I had made with Emmett in regards to his sleep habits, had been lost.

Ever since his Mom left, Emmett wakes up at some point in the middle of the night, panics and runs into my room and climbs into my bed.

He wraps himself around my arm and goes back to sleep.  This always happens.

Where progress had been made was in regard to him falling asleep in his own bed.

Prior to this setback, Emmett had been falling asleep in his room at bedtime, with not too much of a problem..

What’s been happening for the last few months is that he isn’t able to fall asleep on his own.  He comes downstairs after a short while, saying that he can’t sleep.

All he wants to do is lay next to me on the couch and as soon as he does, he’s out.

I guess it’s not a huge deal but he has to be physically touching me and I try to use the time the boys are in bed to sorta regroup.

Anyway, that’s where we’ve been since the end of August.  😕

Tonight however, he did really well.

He fell asleep in his bed, all by himself amd didnt wake up until 2 am.

This is a step in the right direction and I’m really proud of him. Frankly, I’m extremely grateful as well because I was able to have some downtime tonight…. ☺

I’m definitely putting this in the win column tonight.
