I have some bad news about Gavin

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated you all on how Gavin’s doing.  That changes because I’m going to catch you up tonight, as something has come to light.

I can honestly say that overall, Gavin’s still doing quite well. I’m talking big picture here.

That being said, there are some concerns that have come to light and it’s not good news.

Gavin informed me yesterday morning that Sonic has been watching him play his computer games.  Apparently, Sonic thinks Gavin’s doing super awesome at them as well.

When I asked about it, what I heard was heartbreaking.

Gavin’s living two lives. The first of which is somewhat grounded in reality with myself and his brothers. The second of which is firmly planted in a very elaborate hallucinatory world, where he’s the king of the entire universe.

The details don’t matter as much as the fact that he’s living two lives.

Dr. Pattie says and correctly so, that Gavin is extremely well therapized and knows what to say and not to say.

I don’t know if it’s good or bad that he’s maintaining these separate world’s.  Every once in awhile, he let’s me in on the secret and I don’t know if he means to or not.

He seems to be maintaining some kind of balance and that’s probably a good thing.  I wish he didn’t have to do that but those are the cards he’s been dealt.

I’ll just have to be there when he needs to be pulled back into reality..

I wouldn’t wish this type of mental illness on anyone. 😕
