They Say That a Picture is Worth a Thousand Words Elliott was so nervous about getting his flu shot this past weekend. Anxiety is something that he struggles with and medical appointments in particular, are worrisome for him. All that said, he did so amazingly well and I couldn't possibly be any more proud of him.

His face tugs at the heartstrings…..I see muted fear,trepidation and a general sense of trying to keep it together. His sensitivity is completely transparent…. makes me want to tell him it’s no big deal and give him a hug.

My dad was left to raise my siblings and I, there were 3 of us and I was the oldest at 7, followed by a 5 year old and a 3 year old. This was in 1993, people weren’t all that awesome to him. I had so many friends that weren’t allowed to sleep over, let a lone come.over, because clearly my mom must have left because he was THAT bad. Makes no sense but that’s what people thought.
