I’d rather not spend the money but I’m too tired to care

I had a really hard time falling asleep last night. I ended up finally crashing around 5:30 AM and for those wondering, that puts me at a significant disadvantage going into the day.

I was able to get about 4 hours of sleep because the boys slept in. Super grateful for that.

The goal for today is pretty simple, I want to get Gavin started using Mightier and I need to unbox something that was sent out for me to look at and share. The super annoying hangup right now is that someone a few doors down has this dog that incessantly barks and they just ignore it..

It’s really hard to record anything because nothing is even remotely soundproof in my house.

I’ve considered filing a noise complaint because this has been going on for weeks but I don’t know these people and because of the current COVID19 crisis, I’d rather not send the police on something that really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

A large part of the post process for the podcast is spent removing the dog barks from the background. If you listen carefully, some of it can’t be removed and you can still hear it a little.

Anyway, Gavin getting started on Mightier will move to the front burner until the dog shuts up.

I’m not sure how this is going to go with Gavin because of his autonomic issues. His heart rate is elevated by default and this might be setting him up for failure simply because the system won’t take into account that his heart rate is always elevated and its not necessarily a sign of stress or frustration.

The only way we’re going to know is if we try. I have some ideas on how to work around the problem but we’ll have to see. Gavin’s condition is exceedingly rare so this isn’t something anyone else is likely to run into. Either way, I’ll let you know what I get figured out. I think Gavin will really benefit if I can make this work.

Outside of that, I may order dinner because I’m simply too tired to cook 3 different meals tonight. I can order 2 different things, have it delivered, feed everyone at one time and support the essential workers as well. It’s kind of a win win for me.

I’d rather not spend the money but at this point, I’m too tired to care.

Just a thought. I have these 9volt dog barky things that look like birdhouses. Maybe plant one nearby? There around $30 bucks. Or throw a peanutbutter filled kong over the fence. That might help.

Sometimes stress and weariness causes us to do whatever it is we have to do to catch any kind of a break. Even it’s spending money we don’t really want to or can afford. Done that many times over the years.
