I made some last minute changes to Gavin’s IVIG infusion

Gavin has really been struggling with receiving his IVIG Infusions in his legs for the last month and frankly, I don’t blame him.

Setting the needles in his leg is very painful for him and caused him significant stress.

I talked with him today about trying to do this in his belly again. It’s been a month or so and maybe things will go better after the break.

We decided that it was worth a try.

Worst case scenario would likely be an infusion that took most of the day to process.  Best case scenario is that it works fine and Gavin ends up being more comfortable.

He’s pretty nervous about the change but it’s what he wanted to do and I’m happy to support that decision.

We just started the infusion at noon and so far it seems to be moving right along.  ☺

Time will tell if this was the right decision or not but I have a good feeling about it.  If nothing else, it gave Gavin a little bit of control over his life and. Eleven it or not but that’s a pretty big deal also.
