Trying to set a good example for my kids

Trying to set a good example for my kids

One of my resolutions this year is to increase my veggie intake. I’m not a big fan of just eating most vegetables, so I get around that by putting them into smoothies. I recently began adding additional vegetables to my smoothie and it takes a few times to get used to the taste.

This morning, I bumped things up a bit. I added cauliflower and sweet potato to the spinach, kale and broccoli I already include.

As it stands, this is what’s my smoothie:

  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Sweet Potato
  • Chard
  • Chia Seeds
  • Blueberries
  • Banana
  • Strawberries
  • Raw Honey
  • Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Almond Milk
  • Oatmeal
  • Dark Chocolate

I make 64oz and drink it throughout the day. My new blender let’s me vaccum seal it so it stays fresh all day.

It honestly tastes pretty good and I’m getting at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. I feel pretty good about that. I’ve got Emmett drinking his own smoothie and I’m working on the others.

Selfcare is so important and anything I can do to help take better care of myself matters. I’m working to make small, but sustainable changes that improve the quality of my life and provide my kids a good example.
