3 reasons I’m feeling incredibly blessed today

It’s no secret that my life is hard. It just is. It’s no secret that I struggle at times. I just do. It’s no secret that if it weren’t for bad luck sometimes, we wouldnt have any luck at all. It’s how I feel.

Having said that, there are times where I feel extremely lucky or even blessed and today is one of those times.

There are currently three reasons why I’m feeling so blessed right now..and here they are.

Work

Money’s really tight since some recent changes to my income occurred. When I mean tight, I mean I can have less than $10 to my name at times. I’m not proud of that but it is what it is and I know I’m doing the best I can. I have to cling to that.

I’ve been working with some new advertising and pr companies lately, trying to broker some advertising deals that can help replace the income I’ve lost.

So far, I’ve inked deals with about half a dozen new clients already but I haven’t gotten any work from them yet.

Last night, I unexpectedly picked up a new client. It was really late and often times there are major time zones differences. Communication can be delayed because we’re on opposite schedules.

This client was particularly quick to respond and I ended up with two jobs last night. I was able to knock them out quickly and I was paid immediately. I also received a job from another client last night and another one this morning.

This came at a time when we desperately needed it. I was able to get school supplies and put gas in the car.

That’s a huge relief and an absolute blessing.

It sounds like things are starting to turn around and be in your favor!! Good job on the weight loss Rob. Amazing what walking can accomplish!! Curious, did you also make changes to your diet?

That’s fantastic that you got paid so quickly. What are the jobs? I feel like there are probably a lot of people who follow your blog who could benefit from being able to do the same thing to earn some extra cash and in such a short period of time.

Follow up question- I know working full time outside the house is difficult and part of that reason was because any significant bump in income would lower your benefits, but now that Gavin is an adult does that change anything? His benefits are now independent so you should be able to earn more without having cuts made, right? Just a curiosity.

        Oh my god, right?!

      1. Hey what’s up… Unfortunately, as I explained to Kim, I don’t think this will help to average reader. If you have a blog however, that’s a different story.. ☺

    1. Hey Kim. Um… The stuff I’m doing isn’t really something just anyone can do. You have to have a blog or website and the PR companies have to be interested in working with you. That’s why I haven’t talked about it too much because it won’t benefit most of my readers. Essentially, clients pay a fee for me to run advertisements within this site. Some are simply links, embedded within a post and others are sponsored posts. There really isn’t anything to share beyond that. I wish it was something simpler that applied to more people but it’s sort of a niche thing. Most of these companies seek me out and not the other way around. Many years ago, I somehow got listed in a database somewhere that agencies gain access to find influential people to work with. I don’t know how it happened and have never been able to figure out how to help anyone else do the same thing. I’ve tried on and off for years but I don’t even know where I’m listed.

As for the benefits, the only thing we have is insurance and the way that’s setup anymore, I’d have to have a significant boost in income for that to even almost impact things. Lizze, Emmett and Gavin’s insurance is not tied to income anymore, it’s based on disability. I guess in answer to your question, it has nothing to do with anything.
