We had such a good time tonight

We had a really fun time with the whole family last night. We spent the evening celebrating Mother’s Day with my parents and siblings. We haven’t all been in the same place at the same time in a really long time. It was awesome.

The boys did really well but sadly, Elliott wasn’t feeling well at all. He was okay when we first got there but shortly after arriving, he began to not feel well.

It’s the same sore throat, headache and nasal drip thing he’s been dealing with. It’s been on and off for the last few days. If he’s not feeling better by Monday, we’ll get him into to see his doctor. I’m pretty sure this will have to runs its course but nothing wrong with erring on the side of caution.

We ended up leaving before the bonfire because Elliott wanted to go to bed. Emmett and Gavin stayed and were later brought home by my parents. ☺

It was a lot of fun and we need to make it a point to do this more often. Lizze and I need to make it a point to make ourselves more available as well. It’s hard because we’re always so overwhelmed and tired but we will be making more of an effort to push through that.

It’s really important that we not allow ourselves to become isolated because of all the challenges we face being Autism parents. Today was a reminder for both of us.

I’m off to bed and I wish all of you, especially my wife and mother, a very Happy Mother’s Day…. ☺ 💙

Pictures or it didn’t happen is a phrase from back when I was developing ROM’s for Android devices. It’s just something we used to say when people would complain of bugs in a ROM and not properly document things so we could try and reproduce the error. Show me a picture or screenshot of the problem or it didn’t happen. Anyway, in the spirit of showing pictures to prove things happened, here’s our first full family photo in a really long time… ☺
