Frustrating and Dangerous

I’m really not looking forward to today because my covidiot neighbors are throwing a graduation party. There’s maybe 30 feet between our houses. Historically, their parties are big, loud and 100 proof.

This just isn’t safe and I don’t understand why people put themselves and everyone around them in danger.

This is a bit worrisome right now because we’re in such close proximity, and it’s going to be stressful, especially for Gavin. His window overlooks where the party is taking place and there’s no way to take his attention away from it.

As I’m writing this, he just walked into my room, telling me that he thinks the neighbors are having a party. I told him that I think he’s right and he simply replied, oh hell no. 😂

The last thing in the world I want to do is have a beef with one of my neighbors and so I’m really hoping they keep it low key. Worst case scenario, I’ll have to call the police. Truthfully, I’m not sure what the rules are on gatherings. Last I heard it was 10 people or less. Maybe it’s changed, who knows.

Either way, I think today will be a great day for video games and movies.

I’m irritated that people seem to have forgotten that we’re in a pandemic but we will keep to ourselves, stay locked down and let natural selection to its thing. The only downside is that if/when they get infected, they’ll spread it to other people. That’s a very big downside but I have no control over their actions.

My mission today is to keep my kids distracted and otherwise occupied.

On a side note, I was surprising the kids with a Lenovo Duet Chromebook. I wanted to get them doing educational things this summer and they can’t really use my laptop cause it’s going bad and it’s only for work. It was supposed to be here last Thursday but never arrived. I called last night and apparently it’s disappeared. UPS says they never received it and Best Buy shows it was shipped. Either way, no Chromebook for us. I should have a refund in a week or two but they can’t replace the order cause it’s sold out once again, with no time frame for restock.

It’s certainly not the end of the world but it’s frustrating.

Anyway, have a great day everyone and I’ll be in touch.

Rob did you do something with your site to change it? It’s not updating for me it’s like it’s stuck on an old post. I have to either go to the archives to find new posts or check your twitter feed to see if you have linked a new post.

Happening on multiple devices.

Hopefully the party is over now. Did you check Walmart, Amazon or eBay for the Chromebook? Also, Newegg although they do sell on eBay.

Here’s hoping the party goers at least make a good attempt and use good common sense and only have the required amount of people by law and keep it from getting too rowdy and upsetting your sons, especially Gavin. I sympathize with you. I’ve run into this situation myself when we lived across the street from a bunch of college kids who had an end of college year party which wound up into a large drunken crowd fighting in the street until the police came to disperse them.
